DECOM Extension Denial – to be adjusted before sending out (this was VP response to rep)
UpdatedDecember 7, 2023
A couple of notes. Windstream sent letters around this action, along with a message on the bill about the impact. On the purely logistical front, Windstream has complied with all legal and regulatory requirements for notice of service disconnection.
The issue at hand, unfortunately, is when a customer makes a request to keep their services active for a period past the notification date, that is really a request to keep all the infrastructure that has been supporting many thousands of lines active for only their needs, and that has a very real and very large cost, which is scheduled to be removed at the same time as all the billing services. The standard response for all such extension requests is to regretfully decline.
