The OfficeSuite extension ranges are organized by leading digits to categorize different types of extensions within the OfficeSuite Phone System. Here’s a breakdown of the extension ranges as per the provided information:
-
- User Extensions, CCS Queues, CCS Conditional Routes, and CCS VRQs (Voice Response Queues):
Leading digits 1’s through 5’s: These ranges are typically reserved for user extensions as well as for various call control services like queues, conditional routes, and voice response queues.
-
- Groups:
Leading digit 6’s: This range is designated for groups within the OfficeSuite Phone System.
-
- Auto Attendants:
Leading digit 7’s: Auto attendants, which are automated receptionists allowing callers to be automatically transferred to an extension without the intervention of an operator, fall within this range.
-
- Enterprise Groups – Inter-tenant Escape Digit:
Leading digit 8’s: This is used for inter-tenant calls, allowing coworkers at different tenants within the enterprise group to call each other. This digit acts as an escape digit for making such calls.
-
- PSTN Access Escape Digit:
Leading digit 9’s: This range is used as an escape digit for accessing the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), facilitating calls to external numbers outside the OfficeSuite Phone System.
Additionally, OfficeSuite offers custom extension range options that allow for the use of 8 as the PSTN escape digit as well as utilizing 6 or 6 and 7 as extensions. This flexibility in customization allows for the dial plan to be tailored to the specific needs of an organization, considering its size, the structure of teams, and external communication requirements.
If a customer needs to change to allow for 6 or 7 extension ranges, It could be added to the quote or possibly be changed after the fact with a MAC order.
